St. Tripun cathedral in Kotor was built  in the 12th century. This is the oldest cathedral church on this side of Adriatic Sea after the arrival of South Slaves. Cathedral of St. Tryphon is one of the  most beautiful examples of Roman architecture not only in Montenegro but along the Adriatic Coast.

The Roman villa ”Villa Urbana” was found during the laying of the foundation stone for the old hotel „Avala“ (in 1938). It is one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the old town of Budva from the times of antiquity.

Djurdevi Stupovi Monastery is located in the eastern part of Montenegro, near the town of Berane. The monastery was constructed in the second half of the 12th century. It is the center of the Serb Orthodox Eparchy of Budimlje-Nikšić in Montenegro.
