Steves Place Hostel, Podgorica Montenegro, cheap hostels for backpackers
Steve Place is a small, quiet hostel in the center of the capital of Montenegro. The owner, Steve, is a traveler from the United States who has been staying in hostels for over 20 years. He is also a writer and encourages other writers to come stay for a while.
The hostel is very near the soccer stadium in the center of the town. You can walk to the stadium in about 15 minutes from the bus/train station. Once you get to the stadium find the Eko gas station which is right in front of the stadium. From there, go to the sidewalk which is right next to the stadium and follow it to your right. In less than a minute you will come to the end of the stadium. When you reach this point you just need keep walking straight for about 25 step and you will see an opening into a courtyard. Enter the courtyard and the hostel is the second door on the right, Number 60.
Here is a note from Steve:
I have been traveling around the world and staying in hostels for a long time. When I came to Montenego I quickly discovered three things. 1. Montenegro is an amazingly beautiful and diverse country. 2. The people here are very friendly. 3. There was no hostel in the capital of the country!
Opening a hostel has been something I have thought about many times. I have also helped run hostels in other cities. Now it is my chance to have my own hostel and help fellow travelers discover this interesting country and the warm people.
Some people say that there is not much to see in Podgorica so most tourists stay on the beaches of the country, but I have learned there is a lot to do here if you want good conversations. I have made many friends here in a short time and I invite you to come meet some of them, too.
Podgorica is more like a small town where you keep running into your friends, than a large city where you get lost in the crowd.
